About Tina
Tina Tran is a business development gal who is passionate about making a difference in the world. Tina currently works at Kiva.org — a dream job where she gets to do what she enjoys (BD) for a start-up tech company that also happens to be an amazing high-impact non-profit! Prior to Kiva, Tina was at Mochi Media, the worlds largest casual games network, where she launched partnerships with the HuffingtonPost.com, Cooliris, uClick, and Facebook game developers.Tina has developed revenue-generating global partnerships in the non-profit, online games, consumer internet, software, and financial services sector, while working throughout Europe and North America.
She is on the advisory board of Girls in Tech (GIT), an organization focused on supporting women’s achievements in technology, and is a featured blogger on the GIT website (http://www.girlsintech.net). Most recently, Tina was the lead blogger covering the Geeks On A Plane Venture Capital / Tech Tour with Founders Fund & Web2Asia (June 2009) http://www.geeksonaplane.com/
Tina holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), where she was a Governor Gage Scholar and founded the UCLA Speaker and Debate Series. Tina is also fluent in Vietnamese and conversational in Spanish.
In her free time she loves being out and about, hiking, playing tennis, sand volleyball, golf, and just about any sport. She’s big into live music, immersing herself in other cultures and doing high-impact volunteer work in developing countries.
